Favorite place/activity in Lexington is .... Activity: eating!
Best locations to eat: 1) wild eggs- delicious and unique breakfast foods and you can bring your pup with you and enjoy your food on the patio! 2) Panera off Richmond Rd. Comfy seating and nice atmosphere with super friendly staff, this is a regular hang out for our family 3) Jacobsen Park-- there s a giant play area for kids, a huge man made pond where you can paddle boat or bring your kayak, a HUGE dog park and an 18 hold frisbee gold course! 4) Malones: relaxed atmosphere with the Best steak and signature salad! also has a random sushi bar, that is some of the best I've had! Servers treat you like their friends and are yet very professional. Also, another regular eatery for our family-- also a very family friendly or great date night locale.
One thing that surprised me about Lexington KY in general is .... enormous number of unique delicious restaurants around!
One aspect that makes UK Peds special is .... Every attending likes to teach! And I've yet to meet someone who refuses to answer my millions of questions (my usual phrase is, "I just have one more question..."). Additionally the attendings are just as kind as they are intelligent and they contribute to our family-like atmosphere, which is so unique to our program. Our attendings and residents understand that sometimes "life" gets in the way of work, and there is understanding and support here to the point that if my sitter cancels on me, the first people I text are my coresidents to watch my son. When we get together for journal club or meetings, they always run a little longer because we take time to catch up, shoot the breeze and just enjoy our close knit group!
One think I love about pediatrics is .... our patients generally get better.
I grew up in .... Atlanta, GA.
I went to medical school at Lincoln Memorial University DCOM and earned a DO degree.
